Sharon Yvonne Stone, born 10 March 1958 at Meadville (Pennsylvania) was the daughter of Dorothy Lawson, a former factory worker, as well as Joseph William Stone, a tool maker and die maker. Michael, Kelly, Patrick. She is one of three sisters. Stone, who was gifted in the classroom as young children, began her second grade education at the age of five. Stone graduated from Saegertown High School, located in Saegertown, Pennsylvania, in 1975. The Miss Pennsylvania beauty competition saw Stone win Miss Crawford County. Stone was moved into New Jersey in 1977 with her aunt, to take on a job as a model. In less than a month she was signed with Ford Modeling Agency. After a year spent living in Milan and Paris, Stone moved to Europe. In the end, Stone became disillusioned with modeling and fashion in Europe and decided to take up acting in Europe while she was there. Woody Allen's film, "Stardust Memories", received mixed reviews in her 20s.
